Hello! My name is Craig and I live in Coventry in the UK. Among the many hats I wear, I am a collector of miniatures and budding miniature painter. This website is intended to track my progress as I build, assemble and paint the models I've bought. Think of it as a motivational tool for me as much as it is a showcase for my work. If someone else reads or (better still) enjoys it too, that's even better.

My ultimate goal with the majority of my projects may be to assemble and paint a ‘game legal' army that looks good but I'm not really interested in gaming with it. I've been involved in the hobby since 1992 when a school friend introduced me to Games Workshop. At the time we were into a game called Space Marine (often referred to as 'Epic' because of the tiny model scale but vast armies you could build). In 1993 we switched to Warhammer 40,000, which was just about to enter its second edition. I've been active in the hobby off and on ever since then, collecting models from almost every major faction at some point from both the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 universes, as well as several of their derivative specialist games.

In around 2010, after a 'break' of a few years where my involvement was fairly minimal, I was drawn back into the hobby again by my love of painting. I already hadn't played any games since the late nineties, but I'd still been collecting and painting for a while after that purely through my love of the models. Since 2010, I've been a lot more active, though exclusively as a painter, which was always the part of the hobby I enjoyed the most.

I think I paint to a fairly decent standard, but I'm unlikely to win any accolades for my work. I do the best I can, but I'm not an expert. I do it for the fun of collecting and painting the models I most want to paint. My goal is to paint models that look good on the shelf, especially alongside their peers or facing off against their enemies. I like to take my time on the projects I work on, which means I'm a slow worker. I also tend to have lots of projects on the go at any one time, which adds further distraction. As such, I don't take commission work. All the models I paint are my own and their ultimate destination is a shelf on one of the repurposed IKEA bookshelf units that stand against the wall behind me while I work.
